Downsizing, I must admit, had its challenges, especially as a young friend convinced me to buy new furniture – more Scandinavian in style to go with the light open air feel of the unit.
Health had become an issue for Ray and Val. After his long career working with dairy farmers across Victoria and Tasmania, they chose to move to Meadowvale. And they love it, Ray stating: "I keep telling people - while you have good health, go and enjoy life!"
"My mum and dad used to bring us to Casula for picnics; it was a nice day out from where we lived in Bexley which was half an hour away by car. Of course, it was real countryside then, lots of market gardens and fields.
"We appreciate the village ownership structure. Our interests are protected, but if there is a problem this can be passed to management for such action as may be necessary. The caring and professional attitude of management and staff confirms our decision to move to The Arbour."
