Springfields Retirement Village was developed in several stages commencing in early 1994 and completed in 1999. The development comprises 111 strata title villas with varying configurations of 1, 2 and 3 bedrooms. Also on site are 53 life lease apartments overlooking the bowling green and the magnificent Village Centre. The Village facilities were constructed up front with Stage 1 and comprise the Community Centre, with games room, pool, spa, sauna, tennis court, bowling green, caravan parking and 24hour emergency call facilities. The Village was developed by the Summit Group of Companies who have also owned and operated the Village from Day one. The Group are also responsible for the development of shopping centres, land subdivisions, new home builds and various other commercial and retail developments in Rockingham. The Village has been developed as a self care resort style village with services being delivered to the Village on a user pays basis. The Village is a past recipient of the WA Housing Industry award for the Excellence in provision of housing for older Australians. The Residents are active participants in Village affairs and have an annually appointed resident committee to represent residents at monthly management meetings. The very motivated activities club ensured residents have many functions to attend. Bingo, cards, billiards and tennis also provide for entertainment on a weekly basis.
