Retirement provider Aveo Group has announced the appointment of an Executive Chef at Brisbane’s Aveo Newstead village.
The appointment of Gillian Hirst, an award-winning chef with over 30 years’ experience in the culinary field, is the next step in Aveo’s plan to address the need for nutritional standards for seniors.
The former executive chef at Riverside’s Il Centro, Ms Hirst plans to bring a dynamic dining experience to residents within the Aveo Newstead community, ensuring residents enjoy nutritionally balanced meals under the group’s Select Dining by Aveo initiative.
Aveo Group CEO Geoff Grady believes Aveo is leading the charge in the retirement industry in its dedication to providing choice, excellent food and a great dining experience for their residents by introducing Select Dining by Aveo.
According to Mr Grady the menus have been developed with the unique nutritional needs of seniors in mind whilst delivering restaurant quality cuisine across all their communities, all under the guidance of Nutrition Professional Australia.
Gillian Hirst has been awarded the American Express Gold Plate Award on seven occasions, as well as the Gourmet Traveller Best Restaurant in Queensland three times.
