Valerie Lyons, arguably the most experienced CEO in the retirement village and aged care sector, has announced her resignation from Uniting AgeWell VIC & TAS. She held the position of Executive Director & Chief Executive Officer.

She had previously been CEO of Victoria's Southern Cross Care and Villa Maria. Across the three organisations she has been a leading sector CEO for 18 years.

Valerie tells us she intends to concentrate on non-executive Board directorships in the seniors, health and finance services sectors. She is currently a non-executive director of industry super fund HESTA and previously she was a Founding Director of LASA. She has also sat on ACSA’s national board.

Having risen through the ranks from her country Victoria roots, she has been a passionate advocate of the advancement of women in business.  Villa Maria was recognised as an Employer of Choice for Women in 2012 and 2013.
