Pepper handed over the day-to-day running of the group to new executives and now has set his course on creating a diversified retirement property group, somewhere between retirement villages and manufactured home estates, bringing in co-located care.
Using Alceon QLD, an investment an advisory group of which he holds 50 per cent, he has made his first purchase - Liberty Senior Living Carseldine Gardens - 18 kilometres north of the Brisbane CBD.
This property features approximately 140 units and on the adjacent land, Pepper intends to build a 75-bed aged care facility. The previous owner of Carseldine Gardens was the Panettiere family, Brisbane’s largest concreters.
Pepper also bought the Liberty branding, saying he sees it as a springboard to building a major retirement portfolio.
