Not-for-profit retirement village operator Amana Living has planned a major innovation for aged care facilities in the Peel region, after announcing their acquisition of Settlers Meadow Springs Retirement Village in Mandurah from the Ingenia Communities Group.
The Settlers Meadow Springs village will be renamed Amana Living Meadow Springs Retirement Village, and offer seniors the opportunity to age in place in the Peel region.
Settlement of the new village took place on January 31, and also includes an adjacent parcel of vacant land. With good conditions ahead, the West Australian provider is set to double the size of their operations and build a new state-of-art facility for elderly residents in the region.
Amana Living CEO Stephanie Buckland said the acquisition was part of Amana Living’s growth strategy and commitment to expanding its offering for WA seniors. According to Ms Buckland the expansion is tipped to take more than three and a half years to complete, and create more jobs within Amana Living and within the centre’s construction assembly.
Since stepping into the role a year and a half ago, Ms Buckland has set her sights on creating a strong future for aged care in the region, with one of the key requests from the former chief executive officer and staff was to review current estates and establish a growth strategy.
“Mandurah and the Peel region has a growing need for quality aged care services,” she said.
The latest acquisition provides Amana Living with the opportunity to offer an integrated service hub, which will include independent living units, residential care and a home care base. Ms Buckland added that although Amana Living already enjoys a good reputation in the region, she wanted to make sure the provider stayed relevant in the community.
“That growth is only set to increase,” she says.
