The government is pumping up home care packages, supporting the push for ageing seniors to stay at home longer.
5,995 packages were released in the latest round, up 55% on the 2014 release.
5,575 were high in demand Level 3 and 4 packages.
Interestingly the not-for-profit's won 80% of the 6,445 new home care packages awarded, the reverse ratio of aged care beds . The government clearly identifies churches and charities as preferred providers to private operators of care into the homes. All up 126,808 home care packages were applied for – meaning the government delivered on just 5% of the applications as all operators jockey for size under CDC.
