South Australia’s Padman Healthcare hopes to save $60,000 a year in energy costs at its Flagstaff Hill aged care centre. If correct, they’ll have paid off their $200,000 solar investment in just over three years.

Consequently, they’ve signed up to another $190,000 installation at the operator’s Lockley centre, now under construction.

Padman Healthcare plan to roll out the energy cost savings initiative to another eight sites said projects manager Raj Padman.

"At the moment, our electricity bills range from $10,000-$14,000 per month, so the savings will definitely benefit," he said.

Padman Healthcare owns 12 aged care facilities across South Australia, and another two in Queensland.
