Gary Barnier’s Opal Aged Care has acquired NSW based Aquarius Aged Care with nine locations (including one in Southport QLD). This builds Opal to 69 facilities across four states.

Prior to the purchase they had 5,200 beds plus the 966 bed licenses they won last week; with the 551 Aquarius beds, Opal will now have 6,700 beds coming to market.

Today they stated they have 23 brownfield and greenfield sites also under development.

Opal is owned by AMP Life and Singaporean investor Goh Geok Khim.
