Helping relieve the strain on the aged care system, Youngcare is offering its third round of Home Care Grants in NSW for those with high care needs.

2758 young people in NSW are currently being looked after in an aged care facility.

“Aged care is no place for a young person” said spokesperson Anna Cox.

“We particularly want to encourage young people living in regional areas to apply because we know they have an even harder time accessing support.”

The grants aim to prevent further admissions into aged care by funding essential equipment such as wheelchairs and electric beds, respite care or home modifications.

A total of $130,000 in funding is available in this round for grants between $2,000 and $10,000.

The grants are funded entirely by GIO.
