Ms Davidson, care coordinator at Baycrest Retirement Community, was willing to lose her hair for charity on condition residents raised at least $10,000.

She was shocked when they did but happily lost her locks for the Leukaemia Foundation's World's Greatest Shave fundraiser.

‘Everyone here has raised over $10,000, how good is that?’ said Ms Davidson.

‘The Leukaemia Foundation does a marvellous job,’ she added, ‘and it's for the residents, it's for the good feeling of the residents.’

A number of women at Baycrest Retirement village joined in the spirit of the occasion and shaved their heads for the event.

The Leukaemia Foundation has raised $17 million nationally for their World's Greatest Shave fundraising event.
