Plans to add an additional 18 beds to the Mannum aged care facility were announced following receipt of a $3.98 million grant.

Aminya chief executive officer Glen Cooper said the board would now start the detailed planning process to grow to 50 aged care places.

Consultation with residents, their families and the broader community were being scheduled he said.

Aminya is aiming to complete the project by the end of next year.
