"Samford is such a beautiful area that we did not want to move away from it. It is an expanding town, that holds a rural atmosphere, but it's also close to everything. We didn't initially think of a retirement village as, like a lot of people, our perception was wrong. However, our search eventually led us to our current home at Samford Grove where we purchased off the plan."

My husband and I met during the Second World War. After he passed muster with my family, we moved to Queensland where Neil had resided. We moved twice within the Brisbane metropolitan area before settling into the Samford area on a small acreage block. We were extremely happy on this acreage but the time soon came when we found that the upkeep and maintenance became too much for us both to manage."

"The house is perfect for us and the village is beautiful; it is wonderful to see it growing. I love to cook and I love the kitchen with its open plan and large benches - it has a much larger cooking area than my old kitchen. The garage here connects to the house which is very convenient; I didn't have that in my old home either."
"The large outdoor living area is just wonderful for entertaining family or friends, or just sitting outside ourselves and enjoying the atmosphere and outlook of the mountains and birds. The unit has an en suite and another bathroom for all our guests when they visit, which we enjoy and they are all welcome at any time. It comes in handy as our family live around 30 minutes away, on the north side, which is convenient for everyone."
"All the residents at Samford Grove are wonderful. The ladies get together every Monday for craft, we bring a plate of goodies and have a general chat. Once a month, we also have a ‘CAMEO' morning tea which means ‘Come And Meet Each Other.'"
"I am 82 and Neil is 84 now, but we still love to entertain and are able to keep in touch with all our friends and family using the internet and email. If I want to know anything, I just go onto Google and up it pops! If I had to sum up our lives I would say simplicity, freedom and friendship. Everything is at our fingertips and well done at Samford Grove."
