Queensland retirement village provider and operator, Aura Holdings,  has begun their development of The Ninth Middle Ridge retirement community within the historic Toowoomba Golf Club. McNab Constructions and Cox Architecture have been appointed to the project.

Construction of the overflow carpark and earthworks to relocate the tenth tee and the storage sheds for golf buggies has begun with major building work expected to begin in April.

Located at 235 Rowbotham St, Middle Ridge, the village will be adjacent to the ninth hole and will feature 85 two, three and four-bedroom apartments across a low-rise development of three and four storey buildings with expansive views of the parkland golf course.

Village facilities will include a gym, billiards area, wine room, library, craft room, lounge, multi-purpose function room, outdoor entertaining and barbecue areas.

Aura Holdings director Tim Russell said  “the Ninth Middle Ridge is already having strong appeal to both golfers and retirees who want to live in such a beautiful, peaceful and tree-filled community", adding that the development was delivering a boost to the Darling Downs by employing local contractors.

Toowoomba Golf Club general manager David Marr said planning was already underway to host many of the village residents in the club, both on and off the course.

Construction is expected to be completed by the middle of 2021.

Members of the public are invited to attend the launch of The Ninth Middle Ridge on Wednesday, March 4, at 10.30am at the Toowoomba Golf Club. Morning tea will be provided.
