Living Choice Australia, the nation’s largest privately-owned retirement village owner/operator, is in talks with Hills Shire Council to extend its immensely popular Glenhaven retirement village in Sydney’s Hills District.

There are 144 people on its waiting list for Living Choice Glenhaven.

“Clients who visit Glenhaven join the waitlist because they want to be close to family, friends and established medical support. The gardens, and being pet friendly, have been the most important factors when deciding,” said Regional Manager, Gail Eyres.

“They also see the village facilities as an extension of their home. We can build homes and apartments with fantastic designs but it’s the community that really matters.”

Living Choice Glenhaven boasts extensive leisure facilities, 24-hour emergency response and a co-located Arcare aged care home.

Living Choice Australia said it long waiting lists at its retirement villages throughout Queensland, South Australia and New South Wales.

CoreLogic’s national Home Value Index (HVI) posted a 0.6% gain in February, the 17th consecutive monthly increase in the national HVI.

Nationally, home values were 20.6% higher over the past 12 months to February, down from what is likely to be the peak rate of annual growth recorded at 22.4% last month.

This is great news for empty nesters who sell their family house to move into a retirement village, land lease community or other retirement living property such as independent living townhouses, apartments or villas.

The empty nesters are finding it relatively easy to sell their property, achieve a high price which means they can top-up their retirement funds alongside entering retirement living.

Living Choice Glenhaven is popular because it has a rural village charm despite being only 15 minutes from Castle Hill. The villas are set in beautiful, award-winning landscaped gardens and the leisure centre has panoramic views of the adjacent forest. There is an indoor heated pool, gym and spa, movie theatre, library, craft room, workshop, computer area, pampering centre, billiards room, auditorium with dance floor, lounge and bar. Outside there is a bowls green, tennis court, veggie garden, and bush garden.
