The new 19-villa retirement village will be built adjacent to the not-for-profit provider’s existing Jemalong Residential Village in Forbes (pictured – five hours west of Sydney CBD).

Catholic Healthcare made the announcement earlier this month, when the organisation’s executives were visiting Forbes to officially mark the uniting of the village with its recently closed aged care facility, Mater Aged Care.

Mater was shut in early 2019 and all residents were moved to the 127-bed Jemalong site.

The now-disbanded Forbes Jemalong Aged People’s Association, which was formed in the 1970s, will be contributing $1.25 million in funds to be used to build a community centre in the new village.
