The not-for-profit Anglicare has received approval for a six-storey building (pictured) with a mix of 36 affordable and strata studio units and one- and two-bedroom units in Fairfield, 23km west of the CBD.

The development will provide affordable housing, in particular for women aged over 55 and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women over 45.

Approval has also been granted for a co-located development in Minto, 38km southwest of the CBD, with a 100-bed aged care facility and 345 one- and two-bedroom village units across ten three- and four-storey buildings.

The site will also include affordable over-55s housing.
